Aug. 11
10:55 a.m. Skagit County Sheriff deputies received a report that a window was broken out of a vehicle on Chuckanut Drive at Clayton Beach, Edison. The vehicle had been rummaged through, but nothing was missing.
5:33 p.m. A caller reported that her children’s bicycles were stolen from the side-yard of her house in the 10800 block of peter Anderson Road, Burlington. The bikes were children’s BMX-style, one pink and one black. Deputies are following up.
Aug. 13
1:45 p.m. A caller reported three suspicious seeming people walking along the road in the 18600 block of Conway Frontage Road, Conway. The caller said it looked like they were putting something in the road. A deputy located three men and found a 2-inch diameter pipe and some traffic cones in the lane of travel. The men removed the items from the roadway.
4:14 p.m. Fishing gear was reported stolen from a boat in the driveway of a residence in the 20300 block of Highway 20, Burlington. A witness saw a suspicious white truck in the area and got the license plate number. A deputy found the truck and identified a suspect. The deputy showed a photo lineup to the witness who picked out the suspect. The suspect, a 32-year-old Burlington man, was contacted, arrested for theft in the second and booked into jail.
5:02 p.m. Someone broke into a shed in the 11100 block of Gardner Road, Burlington, and stole a Milwaukee Sawzall. The caller provided suspect information and a deputy follow up.
Aug. 16
1:47 a.m. Deputies received a report that someone in a blue and white car was going through mail boxes in the 14500 block of Baker Heights Road, Mount Vernon. A deputy made a traffic stop and discovered that it was a Skagit Valley Herald delivery person.
10:56 p.m. A caller in the 20000 block of Echo Hill Road, Alger, returned home and discoverd someone had pried open the back door to their residence. A teak jewelry box with jewelry valued at $9,400 was stolen.
Aug. 18
8:05 a.m. A 14-foot Lund boat with motor and crab pots was stolen from the water in the 9500 block of Samish Island Road, Samish Island.
Aug. 19
10:04 a.m. Several tools, including a laser transie valued at $700, were stolen from a construction site in the 10800 block of Bay Meadows Lane, Bay View.
