Dreamy landscapes by Oregon artist Amanda Houston and edgier photos and drawings by Anacortes’ own Phil Elverum are among the new shows opening during the First Friday Gallery Walk 6-9 p.m. Friday at several participating galleries.

This month Scott Milo Gallery presents a collection of Houston’s new landscape oils and pastels. The gallery promises a series of striking Northwest landscapes in many sizes. Also showing are ceramic tile paintings by Jack and A.J. Ferrell, oils by Donna Trent and acrylics by Richard Nash, as well as new jewelry, sculptures, glasswork and crafted wood tables.

Anchor Art Space opens “In Dream,” a new show of large-scale photographs and ink drawings by Anacortes artist, musician and visionary Phil Elverum. Also showing are Jean Behnke, Jeffrey Hanks and other local artists.

Also at the Gallery Walk:

• Anne Martin McCool Gallery, 711 Commercial Ave., opens “Summer Color” with paintings by Anne Martin McCool, jewelry by Carole Cunningham, Debbie Aldrich and Kathleen Faulkner and clay sculptures by Teri Silva.

• Insights Gallery, 516 Commercial Ave., continues “The Summer Show” with new work by gallery artists including whimsical pieces by Anne Schreivogl, impasto oils by Alfred Currier, photography on canvas by David Grant Best, oils by John Simon and work by Larry Heald, Ramona Hammerly and Marty Rogers. Guest artists are Frank Loudin with watercolors, Bill Lefeber and his wooden bowls and Bill Weissinger’s stone sculptures.

• Adrift, 510 Commercial Ave., is showing work by regional artists.

• The Depot Arts Center Gallery, 611 R Ave., presents “Here and Beyond” with watercolors by Jon Mills, baskets by master weaver Mary Snowden and bronze sculptures. Photographs by Valley Camera Club are on display in the Baggage Room Gallery.

• Bowman Gallery, 801 Fifth St., features photographs by David and Marius Hibbard.
