ANACORTES — Capacity of automobiles on Washington State Ferries’ San Juan inter-island route will be reduced for a week starting Saturday while the 34-vehicle Hiyu replaces the 90-auto Sealth.
Ferry officials ask passengers to arrive early and consider leaving their vehicles at the terminal or home. The reduced capacity will occur during the first week of the summer schedule.
The Sealth is replacing the 144-car Kaleetan, which will undergo scheduled maintenance. The Sealth, along with the 144-auto Elwha, 144-auto Yakima and 124-auto Chelan, will provide service between Anacortes and the other San Juan Islands.
