Rising young singing star Debra Arlyn, voted the most popular artist in Portland last year, performs at the Rockfish Saturday night after headlining the main stage entertainment at the Anacortes Waterfront Festival.

Debra Arlyn, a sultry young R&B sensation who has drawn comparisons to Alicia Keys, Colbie Callet and Carole King, follows up her Saturday afternoon Waterfront Festival set with a full show starting at 9 p.m. that night at the Rockfish Grill. Her festival main stage show is 4:45 to 6 p.m.

A beautiful and talented young pop singer and songwriter, she was named Portland’s female artist of the year last year. Her blend of Motown and contemporary songs leaves listeners wondering how such a tiny blonde girl can conjure such mature soul.

Arlyn has opened tours for Tower of Power, Chris Isaak and Curtis Salgado. At 23, she has already come a long way since winning Clear Channel’s Oregon Idol contest and competing for the “American Idol” TV show.
