Skagit Valley College Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management students placed fourth in the American Culinary Federation Western Region Knowledge Bowl competition in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The western region is the largest of four U.S. regions, which includes 12 western states and 113 college culinary programs.
Under the direction of Chef Dani Cox, team captain Christine Greenlaw of Anacortes, and team members TJ French of Mount Vernon, Seth Tyson of Marysville, Micah Gabrielson or Arlington, and Adria TaylorMixon of Burlington, competed in the Jeopardy-style contest.
The Skagit Valley College Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management program prepares students for careers within the food industry. Learning experiences include practical lab work, classroom instruction, independent and cooperative study in baking, food preparation, restaurant cooking, customer service, banquets, catering, and hospitality management.
