MOUNT VERNON — Russell Swanson will mark his 90th birthday Monday, Jan. 19, 2009. He will celebrate the event during an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, at the North Ridge Estates Club House, 2500 Club Court.
Swanson’s step-children and their spouses are Norma and Robert Rowe of Yakima, Donald and Sybil Jones of Shelton, Kay and Steven Mallahan of Green Valley, Ariz., and Muriel and Earl Border of Mount Vernon. He has 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Swanson graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School. He worked at the local food bank and, until recently, was a faithful “walker” at the Cascade Mall.
Russell Swanson was born Jan. 19, 1919, in Sedro-Woolley.
