SWINOMISH INDIAN RESERVATION — Employees of the Swinomish Tribe will start working four 10-hour days each week to conserve energy, a Swinomish news release said.

The four-day schedule begins Monday as a 90-day trial. It does not apply to public safety staff, including the Swinomish Police.

“If the response from the community and our employees is positive, we’ll keep it going,” Tribal Chairman Brian Cladoosby said.

Tribal offices will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, and 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Offices will be closed on Fridays.
