COUPEVILLE — A 55-year-old Oak Harbor motorcyclist was in serious condition in the intensive care unit of Harborview Medical Center Wednesday after he crashed into the back of a 2002 Honda Civic.

Gary D. Breazeal was riding a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle southbound on Highway 20, about two miles south of Coupeville at about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, when the Honda slowed in front of him to turn onto Parker Road. The motorcyclist could not stop in time and ran into the car, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, investigators said.
