Good for him!  Maybe some of the other Sups in Skagit County will follow his example.  It’s about time someone does the right thing.

r u kidding He makes over 100k as a superintendant and we are letting some teachers go in Anacortes. How about a 40k a year reduction in salary in order to keep one of those teachers. You know the ones that actually Teach our kids.

Why not a new Mercedes, a bonus, and a raise while forcing teachers to take furlough days?  I think Mr. Borgen needs the hospital commissioners working for him!  However, I also believe Mr. Borgen has more integrity than that.

i got a question ,what is the supers job sit around and waste money he dosent teach or make lesson plans for classes does he tell the eachers what to do ,or ring the recess bell maby drive the school bus i doubt it,i do know that if he is on salery how does 5 furlow days save money he is paid the same, make him take his vacation time, and he already makes over 100k a year why does he get 3grand to travel anacortes isnt that big,i might not have went to harvard but without stepping foot school grounds or looking at paperwork or hiring a consultant for 50,000 to try and save 10,000 that i could save the district 20g a year at least with a timer, how much are the charter buses for field trips,u really want to save money change the school week by adding 90 min +-to every day only 4 days school save on diesel for buses, lunches, electricity, ect, non teaching jobs 4 days a week only 4 days bus use,+ good 4 all with school day that much longer lots of parents save on daycare for that hour or to a day 2 1 full day or pay a neighboring highschool student to bbsit that day puts $in their pocket, not askn parents and kids an extra day to b kids bullies would have more time to forget over longer weekends extra day to get all homework done, thats all no brainer stuff ,is that worth 132,000 a year i bet if i had the districts whole budget i could save a ton more get rid of wasted positions, and keep teachers, cause if we keep loosing the good teachers we might as well just put all kids in one classroom with a deaf teacher, these kids gota learn as much as they can, cause someone has to pay for all the money wasted by the obamma administration we will b paying that for years and years, even if we didnt get a new chevy or dodge look at the big pict if just a uneducated guy like me can say turn of the lights overnight vacations the summer,at the elementary school theirs 60 1000watt bulbs burnin up money none of the students drive ,or for that matter how many days are the kids in school when its dark, maby 20 better hire a new consultant, vote bush1851 anacortes superintendant he actually cares about our future
