How convenient? Epic embarassment to the City Government of Mount Vernon in yesterday’s newspaper that they issued a press release about on Monday after the WWW stops them from withholding this information, so a call to the SVH city beat reporter to do a feel good story.  On sewage treatment?!?  Poor Ellie, she gets the trashy assignments.

Don’t worry, I hear some dude has a website - http://vimeo.com/TV10 - who’s going to most likely get a DVD of tonight’s thriller of a city council meeting.  Complete with a Double Sleazeburger w/ Alicia’s Polish Bacon, Jana’s Freckled w/ Grains of Salt Fries & Esco’s Special Salesmanship Soda w/ a Kevin Milkshake afterward for dessert.  Perfect for watching “Top Gun: Mount Vernon Edition” with Dale “Jester” Regan.

I also wonder what intro tune will be used in this film… “Thriller” by Mike Jackson the perv?  Gosh I hope not.  Something from Sarah Han… Palin’s Flute?  Nah.  “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” again?  Probably not.  Or something from the movie “True Lies”?  Well, it won’t be “The West Wing” theme!!

Done laughing w/ me now?  Okay, my point is this - it’s time for Mount Vernon to get new leadership that knows what public disclosure actually is, takes cues from the Governator & Governor Sarah Palin, and deals with the real issues.  This story is MV’s cheap distraction from a catastrophic issue.

On 2nd thought, need to add this isn’t a slam on Elliott Wilson in any way.

It’s a grouse at the $$$ down the drain of MV City Gov’t that says - and I quote - ”It is extremely important for the cities of Mount Vernon and Burlington and the dike districts to continue to work closely together on proposed flood protection measures and ensuring that the correct hydraulic modeling and data are utilized for the purpose of analyzing flood protection measures and for determining base flood elevations in a 100-year flood event.” That was the whole point of the FEMA rejection that Bud Norris & Co. lacked the character to disclose to the people directly - something Gov’r Sarah Palin (suppsoedly an idol to members of Norris & Co.) would have disclosed promptly & graciously.

I don’t get the reasoning for invoking Sarah ‘The Quitter’ Palin into this topic.

But I do agree the article about MV’s downtown revision spending spree being halted by FEMA was shoved into the archives in quick order.

...in case you blinked....

Lee_USA, yours truly didn’t blink.  I thought, for and with our different political philosophies, best to let you carry the day at that thread.

Problem is, somebody at the Herald blinked and didn’t realize there are a few people in this county who are willing to play public relations any which way they can & try to get people to forget the Norris administration’s starring roles in the looming economic disaster of new flood insurance rate maps by not following proper procedure.  Keep the heat on Mayor Norris & FEMA, folks.

Ought to as well tell ya now… the real iceberg scandal isn’t in Wasilla/Palinville, it’s coming down the Skagit… and it’s got a SAO seal on it… and it’s tangentally related to this crisis.  Oh and that iceberg’s about a month away.  As Leo McGarry once said on “The West Wing”: “I should sell tickets to this meeting”!

I should know, I do a bit of PR and I’m plugged into this crisis.  But unlike these people, I’d stay on-topic.

Finally, I also don’t care for your version of Gov’r Sarah Palin’s gutsy call to exfiltrate after million$ of Democrat vendetta attacks on her family & Alaskan taxpayer coffers, but that’s for another thread somewhere else respectfully.  I also invoke Gov’r Palin becuz some of the people around Mayor Norris worship her.  I personally look up to the Governor but think she’s a bit… out there.  Just a bit.

Things were so quiet for a while, probably because the economy was good at the time. But now that the economy is down we are all seeing the shortcomings of our local governments, more expenditures than income, and not enough planning ahead.

So have they planned financially ahead (years in advance) for our future or are they just looking at tomorrow?

Hillary is laughing her tush off at that!  Sarah really is very delicate isn’t she?

Meanwhile, the citizens of Mount Vernon are going to pay and pay for having Prince Norris at the helm.  If this paper wasn’t so leary of him, they’d actually do some reporting.

Lee_USA - respectfully unfair on both accounts.

1) Chelsea Clinton - thank goodness - was spared the attacks the Palin kids got.  Not to mention as a US Senator, Senator H. Clinton didn’t have taxpayeer$ pay for Rushbo-fueled ethics attacks & OTT FOIAs becuz Congress is exempt from both.

2) The SVH has some great journos and they’ll get back on his butt.  Remember what I said earlier, my lefty friend.  That said, they’re the liberal bastion in a very conservative county so the SVH has to pick n’ choose their fights.

I think you need to be careful about using DNC talking points :-).
