Good luck is right. The tribe rakes in the profits while the surrounding communities put up with the headaches.

So much for FREEDOM and INDEPENDENCE, more city officials that have ripened to the old age of ear soreness, and using it for an excuse...I bet if the younger generation ran these towns, nobody would be banning a celebration like this! Hey all of you sore eared officials, why don’t you make a place for people to let fire works off....not really fair that every year you come up with new rules and then allow only other city reps to let them (firewors) off {fire man, police officers...etc...etc}! kind of 2 faced aren’t you? You know, even parts of Eastern Washington who’s landscape and climate is hot and dry, has lakes they allow fireworks at! You know, if the Government wants to keep controlling peoples said FREEDOM, maybe IMO people should start thinking about having another reason to celebrate, by becoming free from the control and greed of government and city! I mean what ever happened to the peoples vote? As far as I know, my city never sent me a letter asking my opinion, when has it become policy for said Representatives to make laws without asking the people? Isn’t that why we celebrate the 4th? because we stood up to power mongers like this?

I’m all for Freedom and Independence just like the next guy. But when livestock panic and our beloved pets cower and run for safety because of what sounds to them like a war zone - it tends to take a bit of the fun out of it....

Yes this is true, but its a celebration thats been going on for generations! Plus it only happens once a year, so to take it away....where does that leave us for are said FREEDOM & INDEPENDENCE?

There are other ways to demonstrate (and celebrate) your freedom and independence without getting liquored up, making a bunch of noise, accidentally starting fires followed by the occasional trip to the emergency room.

Once a year does not seem to apply given the number of fireworks complaints in past years that the police and fire departments respond to - before AND after the 4th.

How many times has the hillside at Cap Sante viewpoint caught fire due to fireworks?

To me it seems more of a headache and/or an excuse to party than a celebration.

Plus who’s freedom is it anyway. Doesn’t my neighborhood and my house get to be free from roof-igniting bottle rockets (yes I know they are not legal), or vehicle-igniting legal fireworks? And doesn’t my right to peace a quite allow my freedom from noise and fumes? See, it’s all about how you look at it!

So just why are we at war. What freedom are we fighting for. Obvioulsy not the freedom to celebrate the birth of our nation in the way we choose.

I have no problem with you celebrating the birth of our nation in the way that you choose..... as long as WHAT you do doesn’t affect others in a negative way.

So I am going to guess that most of you complaining are the old sore-eared generation of people I was talking about? I have never heard of people that look for so many reasons to put down a holiday that should never even be questioned, in an Americans mind! So should we get rid of New Years to? How about Christmas...you know? that Christmas music can get kind of loud at parades! How about Holloween? Those children screaming and yelling through the city....wow, we should definitely ban that one. Yet I can understand the fact of most of you worried about fires, but there are precautions that you can take, number 1 take a hose and wet down your roofs, lawns, and trees down (do this right before it gets dark). number 2 put lids on your trash cans, number 3 put your animals in the house, number 4 ear plugs, 3 pair for 99 cents at most stores, they can even be used on most animals.....there you go, no more excuses!!!!!!
