June 4
10:52 p.m. Mount Vernon Police officers arrested a 19-year-old Boise, Idaho, man for investigation of robbery in the first degree of a store in the 1600 block of N. Waugh Road. The suspect entered the business, displayed a weapon that appeared to be a handgun, and demanded cash. The suspect left on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. Police K9 officers began tracking the suspect and video surveillance was retrieved. Witnesses also gave information about the suspect and a possible vehicle. Police made a traffic stop on the vehicle in the area of Briarwood Circle and North 30th Street. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and booked into jail.
June 6
9:14 p.m. A green mountain bike with 20-inch wheels was stolen from a residence in the 100 block of E. Section Street. The bike was valued at $50.
June 7
10:20 a.m. A 2007 Toyota Tacoma and a 2005 Honda CRV parked in a driveway in the 1000 block of Chippewa Street were entered. There were no signs of forced entry. Stolen items included handheld gaming devices, iPods and a cell phone. Loss was valued at $900.
12:56 p.m. A 13-year-old Mount Vernon male in the 3100 block of E. Fir Street reported that his skateboard had been stolen. Loss was valued at $149.
1:12 p.m. A black 4x4 utility trailer was stolen from the 800 block of Digby Road.
June 9
6:11 a.m. An air compressor was reported stolen from a driveway in the 2000 block of Pacific Place.
6:50 a.m. A 2005 Chevy pickup in the 800 block of N. 30th Street, was entered through an unlocked door. Tools, an MP3 player and a camera were stolen. Loss was valued at $800.
2:53 p.m. A window was broken and there were pry marks on a 2004 Dodge Neon in the 400 block of W. Gates Street. A backpack containing school books was stolen. Loss was valued at $600. Officers will review surveillance tape.
June 10
9:47 a.m. A suspicious truck was reported in a parking lot in the 1800 block of Riverside Drive. Officers arrived and confirmed this was a stolen Snohomish County PUD truck. The truck was impounded and turned over to the Skagit County Sheriff Office, as it was suspected to be involved in one of their cases.
3:18 p.m. A passenger side window was broken out of a 1995 Chevrolet Monte Carlo in the 1700 block of Freeway Drive. A purse and 100 CDs were stolen. Loss was valued at $600.
7:11 p.m. A passenger side window was broken out of a 1995 BMW 325 in the 1600 block of E. College Way. A backpack and a cell phone were stolen. Loss was valued at $100.
7:19 p.m. A passenger side window was broken out of a 1992 BMW 325 in the 1600 block of E. College Way. A backpack, an iPod, books and clothing were stolen. Loss was valued at $580.
8:03 p.m. The back window was broken out of a vehicle in the 2000 block of Riverside Drive. A laptop was stolen. Loss was valued at $650.
June 11
7:24 p.m. A window was broken out of a 2006 Honda Civic in the 400 block of Main Street. A purse was stolen. Some property was later recovered in a suspect vehicle. Officers are following up with suspect information.
June 12
7:36 a.m. An electrical trailer was broken into at a job site in the 1200 block of Anderson Road. Cable and wiring valued at $2,300 was taken.
June 13
8:27 a.m. A 2006 Nissan Murano in the 600 block of N. Waugh Road was entered through an unlocked door. A GPS unit valued at $350 was taken.
10:23 p.m. Several rooms were broken into at a hotel in the 2300 block of Market Street. Entry was gained by prying or kicking the doors open. Damage to the doors was valued at approximately $400. The only property reported missing was a pair of shoes and a sweatshirt.
June 15
9:39 a.m. A 52-year-old man reported the theft of a mountain bike in the 2300 block of Sigmar Lane. The bike was locked with a padlock. Loss was valued at $400.
11:08 p.m. A report was received from the 2500 block of N. Woods Loop Road of juveniles in the area looking into cars. Officers contacted the suspects at LaVenture and Martin roads. A 15-year-old Mount Vernon male was arrested for a warrant and booked into juvenile detention.
June 16
9:40 a.m. An air compressor, extension cords and hoses valued at $960 were stolen from a 1999 Chevrolet flat bed truck in the 1700 block of Freeway Drive while the owner was shopping.
6:05 p.m. A wallet was stolen from a vehicle that was parked at a business in the 2200 block of E. College Way.
June 17
4:01 p.m. A boat motor valued at $450 was stolen from a boat in a carport in the 1300 block of Berniece Street.
6:58 p.m. A pastor in the 1500 block of N. 18th Street discovered a broken window. Microphones and cables were stolen.
7:34 p.m. The window was broken out of a 1996 Honda Accord in the 1500 block of Cleveland Avenue. A wallet and a cell phone were stolen. The vehicle’s owner heard his car alarm go off and witnessed the suspect flee from the scene. The suspect was described as a male with short black hair who left in a silver Honda with a large wing on the back. Loss was valued at $120 in property.
June 20
6:01 a.m. A large knife or machete was reported in the roadway near the I-5 overpass at West Kincaid Street. Officers retrieved and disposed of the item.
12:04 p.m. The driver’s side window was broken out of a 1995 GMC Jimmy in the 2200 block of S. 19th Street. Damages were estimated at $300.
9:44 p.m. A computer, a GPS unit and a backpack were stolen from a motel room in the 2000 block of Riverside Drive.
June 21
12:17 a.m. A group of juveniles were reported fighting in the 1600 block of N. 26th Street. A 15-year-old Mount Vernon female was arrested for minor in possession, consumption of alcohol and obstructing a law enforcement officer.
June 22
11:58 a.m. The driver’s side window was broken out of a 2000 Mercury Cougar in the 1300 block of Riverside Drive. A bag was taken. Loss was valued at $80.
