Fourth of July Closings

Many offices and businesses will be closed for the Fourth of July, and some services have been rescheduled. Here is a partial list:

Garbage collection
• Areas served by Waste Management will have normal pickup.
• Areas served by Island Disposal will have normal pickup.
• Anacortes: Pickup trash and recycling the following Friday as a double load.
• Coupeville: Normal pickup.
• Mount Vernon: Pickup will be Monday.
• Oak Harbor: Friday pickup will be Thursday.
• Sedro-Woolley: Normal pickup.
• The Skagit County recycling and garbage transfer station on Ovenell Road west of Burlington and at Clear Lake at Highway 9 and Howey Road will be closed.
Transportation
• Skagit Transit buses and Dial-A-Ride will be closed.Call 360-757-4433 or log onto

• Island Transit will be closed. Call 800-240-8747 or log onto
http://www.islandtransit.org.
• Washington State Ferries will add sailings to the Anacortes-San Juan Islands routes on Wednesday, Thursday and Monday and follow a normal schedule Friday and Saturday. Some runs will be canceled Sunday. Other routes will be affected by the holiday. Call toll-free 888-808-7977 or log into

• Skagit County Ferry to Guemes Island will follow a normal schedule.
Whidbey Island Naval Air Station
• The Charles Porter Gate off of Ault Field Road is the only gate open through Sunday. The gates at the Seaplane base will follow a regular schedule.
Newspaper
• The Skagit Valley Herald offices will be closed Friday. Newspaper delivery will continue as usual.
