The Sedro-Woolley Police Department received 238 calls for service between July 4 and July 11. This is a sample of those calls.



July 4



7:21 p.m. Officers responded to the report of an assault in the 800 block of Westview Road. Two females had been fighting. They had been in a verbal argument. A 22-year-old Big Lake resident and a 26-year-old Sedro-Woolley resident were cited and referred to Sedro-Woolley Municipal Court for disorderly conduct.



8:25 p.m. Officers located a vehicle on Portabello Avenue near Arrezo Drive that had been stolen out of Seattle. There was nobody in the vehicle. They arranged for the vehicle to be impounded.



9:44 p.m. Officers responded to a fireworks complaint in the 600 block of Bennett Street. Once officers arrived, they discovered it was more than that. The family was outside lighting off fireworks and one of the neighbors came across the street claiming that one of their fireworks had burned his son’s finger. The neighbor then assaulted another male by throwing an empty firework cylinder and striking the subject in his arm causing slight injury. The 43-year-old Sedro-Woolley resident was issued a citation for assault. Both were cited for disorderly conduct.



9:52 p.m. Report of fireworks in the 800 block of Central Avenue. Officers contacted a subject who had already stopped shooting them.



10:14 p.m. Officers found a location of people shooting fireworks, however, they were legal and the citizens got out of the streets.



10:59 p.m. Fireworks call in the 1500 block of Vecchio Court. The complainant wanted to remain anonymous, so the officer just went through the housing development and had people stop shooting fireworks after hours.



11:07 p.m. Fireworks in the 400 block of Spring Lane. They had stopped by the time officer arrived.



July 5



12:09 a.m. A loud party in the 1100 block of State Street was reported. Officer contacted the residents who agreed to turn the music down.



12:36 a.m. Fireworks 200 block of W. Ferry Street. Unable to locate.



6:14 p.m. Officers were dispatched to an assault in the 500 block of Crossroads Square. Dispatch said a female assaulted two people. While en route, officers were advised that two citizens had the female detained in the parking lot. Upon arrival, officers discovered a female driving a vehicle in the parking lot, almost hit two witnesses, and then reversed and collided with a line of shopping carts being pushed by a store employee. The vehicle then started forward and collided with a parked vehicle. The female then tried to leave but the witnesses stopped the vehicle. Officers contacted the driver and immediately noticed a strong odor of intoxicants. Also found that her driver’s license was suspended. The female was later arrested for DUI and transported to the office for DUI processing. She was cited for driving under 21 while consuming alcohol and driving while license suspended second degree.



July 6



2:24 p.m. Officers were dispatched to a burglary in the 800 block of Metcalf Street. Someone had entered the business. Officer took a report of what was missing and will be investigating.



July 7



1:05 a.m. Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Moore Street to the report of a theft of beer. Employees said that two 16- to 17-year-old males wearing all black grabbed the beer and ran out the front door on Township Street. Officers located a couple of juveniles in the area, however, they did not match the description.



July 9



8:10 a.m. Officers dispatched to a complaint of a vehicle prowl in the 700 block of Highway 20. Someone entered a couple of vehicles and stole a gas card and did damage to the vehicles. No suspects at this time.



2:03 p.m. Officer received a complaint from a vendor of the Loggerodeo. Someone stole his cell phone during the festival. The value of the Samsung phone is $200.



11 p.m. Officer responded to a burglary in the 600 block of N. Township. The complainant said he got home and someone had entered his home and stole a .22-calliber pistol. There are no suspects. Officer entered the pistol as stolen with an estimated value of $50.



July 10



6:16 a.m. Report of a theft in the 300 block of Jameson. Someone had stolen a pressure washer from the home. Value estimated at $600. No suspects



8:18 a.m. Report of a vehicle stolen from the 100 block of W. Ferry Street. Officers were later advised it had been located abandoned in Clear Lake. The vehicle was returned to the owner with no significant damage.



9:05 p.m. Report of someone dumping garbage in the 200 block of Northern Street. Officers located the bags of garbage and found some paperwork which identified the owner. The subjects who put the garbage there were contacted to come and clean the garbage up.
