Governor to attend local Democrats’ rally

SWINOMISH — Gov. Chris Gregoire will be in Skagit County on Sunday at the Swinomish Tribal Community Center for a Skagit Democrats rally for the governor and candidates for the 10th Legislative District.
The noon luncheon will cost $10 in the community center, 1727 Reservation Road, across Rainbow Bridge from La Conner.
Gregoire will speak first, followed by incumbent Sen. Mary Margaret Haugen, D-Camano Island; and possibly U.S. Rep. Rick Larsen, D-Wash.
Democratic candidates Tim Knue of Conway, Patricia Terry of Camano Island and Ann McDonald of Greenbank also will speak.
Knue is running against incumbent Rep. Norma Smith, R-Clinton for 10th District House Position 1; and Terry and McDonald are both running against incumbent Rep. Barbara Bailey, R-Oak Harbor for House Position 2. Swinomish Chairman Brian Cladoosby will welcome the guests.
