July 8



4:37 p.m. Skagit County Sheriff deputies received a report of theft in the 14900 block of Dunbar Court, Mount Vernon. The caller reported that someone had come into his shop and taken two Sata brand spray-paint guns valued at $600 each.



July 9

9:04 a.m. A caller reported that a neighbor’s goats were loose, again, on Scott Road, Samish Island. Animal control will follow up. If it is determined that this is an ongoing problem the owner will likely be cited for allowing livestock at large. This is a misdemeanor charge.



July 10



2:09 p.m. A resident in the 17800 block of Dunbar Road, Mount Vernon, reported a transient who was sleeping on the ground in the caller’s back yard. The caller requested that deputies contact the transient.



2:39 p.m. A bomb was reported in a Porta-Potty on Highway 530 near the Sauk River bridge, Darrington. A deputy checked and found a homemade bomb that the fuse had burned out on. The device did not detonate. The Washington State Patrol bomb squad arrived at the scene and took possession of the item.



July 12



2:58 a.m. A caller in the 18800 block of Fisherman’s Loop, Burlington, reported finding a Hispanic male trying to remove the radio from the caller’s houseguest’s vehicle. The caller confronted the suspect, approximately 140 pounds and 5 feet 7 inches tall, and wrestled him on the ground. The suspect slipped out of his white T-shirt and got away. Deputies were unable to locate the suspect. Nothing was missing from the vehicle, but the side window was broken.



8:08 a.m. The glove box of an unlocked vehicle in the 7000 block of Steelhead Lane, Burlington, was rifled through, but nothing was missing.



July 13



1:32 p.m. Two hanging fuchsia baskets were stolen from a porch in the 1700 block of Cascade Vista, Burlington.
