Isaac Zamora appeared in Skagit County District Court this afternoon for a probable cause hearing where a judge found there was enough evidence to hold him on investigation of six counts of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted first-degree murder.

Zamora, 28 of Alger, is being held on $5 million bail pending charges being filed by Friday afternoon.

The affidavit supporting his arrest have been sealed by the court.  Skagit County Prosecutor Rich Weyrich would not comment on the reason.

Zamora entered the courtroom in downtown Mount Vernon wearing an orange jail jumpsuit, chains and handcuffs. As he walked in, the clicking sound of news cameras was the only real sound in an otherwise quiet room.

Zamora declined to sign the probable cause document, and said nothing in reply to the judge’s routine questions.

Judge David Svaren is arranging for Zamora to be assigned a public defender.
