MOUNT VERNON — A 34-year-old Mount Vernon man was sentenced to five years in prison Thursday after his fifth and sixth arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Abraham A. Villalobos pleaded guilty last week in Skagit County Superior Court to two felony charges of driving under the influence of alcohol. The felony DUI law makes the fifth DUI within 10 years a felony.

Any conviction stemming from a DUI arrest counts toward the four priors, even if the DUI charge is amended down to a lesser conviction, such as reckless driving.

Villalobos was arrested on his fifth DUI in March of this year and his sixth in April, according to Superior Court documents.
