MOUNT VERNON — A 19-year-old Idaho man was sentenced to two years in prison Friday after he pleaded guilty in Skagit County Superior Court to attempted robbery of Short Stop Market and Deli this summer.

Alexander Barbee pleaded guilty to first-degree attempted robbery for holding up an employee at the store with a pellet gun after hours and stealing cash in June, according to the Skagit County Prosecutor’s Office.

Barbee was found by police after a canine hunt and arrested.
