

SEDRO-WOOLLEY — Karl Studebaker marked his 90th birthday Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008. He celebrated the event during a dinner party hosted by his wife, Mary, and family members Sunday, Nov. 9. The party featured music by Merilee Stewart, Leora Patterson and Lori Wooldredge, tabletop magic by Sterling Dietz and a media presentation of Karl’s life from childhood to the present.
The Studebaker children and their spouses are Tom and Dana Studebaker of Sedro-Woolley, and Ken and Jo Studebaker of La Palma, Calif. Mary and Karl have nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Studebaker grew up in Sedro-Woolley, a descendant of the Studebakers who immigrated to America in 1736. He joined the Navy after high school, and served in the Pacific arena during World War II.
Karl Studebaker was born Nov. 12, 1918, in Colville.
