SEDRO-WOOLLEY — A family of nine was displaced today when a fire burned an upper story of a 100-year-old home on Bennett Street.
A baby-sitter and four children were home at the time, said Sedro-Woolley Police Chief Doug Wood, who assisted at the scene. A couple and their seven children live there. Someone called 911 call around 2:05 p.m.
The fire appeared to have started in an upstairs office, Wood said. The home suffered significant damage to the upper story and smoke damage throughout, he said.
No injuries were reported, Wood said. The American Red Cross helped the family with temporary housing.
