BIG LAKE — A Sedro-Woolley School District bus and a 1994 Ford Escort were involved in a crash around 3:20 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Highway 9 and West Big Lake Boulevard.
The Ford’s driver, a Mount Vernon man, and his 13-year-old son suffered minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital, said Trooper Keith Leary, a spokesman for the State Patrol.
The bus driver, a 51-year-old Burlington woman, and her lone passenger, an elementary school-age child, didn’t report any injuries to troopers, Leary said.
The bus was at West Big Lake Boulevard, turning left onto the northbound side of the highway, Leary said. The Escort was driving south on the highway and collided with the bus, which failed to yield to oncoming traffic, he said.
