A program that reduces costs for people who owe money to the district or municipal courts has been extended through June.
The program is intended to help people with driving violations meet their obligations and get their driver’s licenses back while reducing the burden on the courts, Skagit County District Court Presiding Judge David Svaren said.
Participating along with the district court are the municipal courts in Mount Vernon, Burlington, Anacortes and Sedro-Woolley.
The courts and collection agencies are reducing past-due accounts and waiving interest fees and a portion of the collection costs.
People with outstanding fines should contact the court for more information.
