Simplified Summer Food Program

The Upper Skagit Indian Tribe will offer the Simplified Summer Food Program from 9 to 9:30 a.m. and noon to 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays, July 7 through Aug. 6, at the Upper Skagit Tribal Gym, 25708 Coyote Drive. The program makes meals available for children ages 18 and younger at no cost. 360-854-7032.

Host families needed for students

Compass USA seeks host families for 30 students ages 13-18 from Okinawa, Japan, from July 23 through Aug. 19. The students come with their own spending money and full insurance. Call Timm or Dayle Forthun at 360-707-5337 or e-mail .

Kindergarten and preschool registration

Skagit Adventist School is now enrolling students in preschool and kindergarten. School will begin on Aug. 24. Preschoolers must be age 4 before Aug. 3. Kindergarten students must be age 5 before Aug. 31. The school is located at 530 N. Section St., Burlington. 360-755-9261.
