SATURDAY, July 4

ANACORTES

At 10 a.m., the Anacortes American staff will take a town picture at Fifth Street and Commercial Avenue. 360-293-4356 or 360-293-6241.

The Anacortes Women of Today will sponsor the annual Fourth of July Parade and Patriotic Program, which starts at 11 a.m.

The parade will begin at the corner of Third Street and Commercial Avenue and end in Causland Memorial Park about 12:30 p.m., followed there by the Patriotic Program featuring children’s games and food booths.

Fireworks begin at dusk over Fidalgo Bay.

LA CONNER

Enjoy fireworks over the Swinomish Channel during a parade and fireworks show. The event starts at 11 a.m. with a parade in downtown La Conner, followed by the community picnic in Pioneer Park. Fireworks start at 10 p.m.

MOUNT VERNON

Come to Edgewater Park, 600 Behrens-Millett Road, for the City of Mount Vernon’s Fabulous Fourth of July Celebration. Live music begins at 6 p.m. with the headliner band performing at 9 p.m. Bring your own food or buy from one of the food vendors. Fireworks begin at dark.

OAK HARBOR

Enjoy a family carnival, grand parade, food, arts and crafts, family games, and a fireworks display at Windjammer Park. Food and arts vendors will be selling all day starting at 10 a.m. Family games and the carnival continue throughout the afternoon. The grand parade kicks off with a Navy jet flyover at 11 a.m. on Pioneer Way. The Pioneer Tree Service & Landscaping Community Fireworks Extravaganza begins at dusk at Windjammer Park. 360-675-3755.

SEDRO-WOOLLEY

Loggerodeo presents its annual Memorial Fireworks Display at dusk at Riverfront Park.

STANWOOD

The Old Fashioned Independence Day Parade and Ice Cream Social starts at 11 a.m. at the Josephine Sunset Home parking lot, 9901 272nd Place. The parade travels south toward Main Street and around, ending at the Floyd Norgaard Cultural Center. Judging of the Children’s Parade Costume Contest and presentation of awards and brief Independence Day ceremony will follow at the cultural center. Children’s games, activities and refreshments will follow. No parade sign-up; just show up. 360-629-6110.

BURLINGTON

Skagit Speedway, 4796 Highway 99 North, will present the Les Schwab Tires Fireworks Extravaganza in conjunction with the Les Schwab Midseason Championships. The gates will open at 5:30 p.m., racing will start at 7 p.m. and the fireworks will begin at dusk. $15, $9 for seniors, military and ages 7-17. Haggen tickets are still good.
