Truck strikes pole, causes outage on Cook Road

CORRECTION: The State Patrol incorrectly reported which driver fled after the accident. The information has been corrected below:
BURLINGTON — More than 700 Puget Sound Energy customers lost power north of Burlington this afternoon after a Dodge Dakota struck a power pole at the intersection of Chuckanut Drive and Cook Road.
The driver of the truck struck the pole just before 4:30 p.m. after another driver pulled out in front of him, causing the accident. The driver who caused then accident then fled.
Power is expected to be restored about 6 p.m., a Puget Sound Energy spokeswoman said.
