The Anacortes City Council will meet this evening to discuss an 18-condo development proposed for the shoreline of Fidalgo Bay.

The council will consider a proposal for a second phase of The Cove at Fidalgo Bay. Developer Kenneth Knight wants to add 18 condos to the area, bringing the total to 30.

The council will meet at 7:30 p.m. in City Hall at 904 Sixth St.

The Cove site is near 4501 Fidalgo Bay Road. Knight is asking the council for a conditional-use permit because the proposed condo site is in either the commercial marine or industrial zone. Different documents filed at the city specify different zones. However, city codes require a permit to build condos in either of those two zones.

The council also will hear an update from the city parks and recreation department.
