Two area basketball players have been named to the Associated Press Washington All-State Basketball Teams.

Burlington-Edison senior Jake Anderson was selected to the Class 2A boys’ squad and Anacortes’ Brittany Janz was selected for the girls’ squad.

Anderson averaged 18.9 points per game and led the Tigers to the state championship game, where they lost by two points to Ephrata. Ephrata’s Daniel Simon was named the Class 2A player of the year, while younger brother Patrick Simon joined both on the team.

Janz helped Anacortes finish the season with three straight wins to take fifth in the girls’ tournament. She led all area girls at 18.5 points per game and finished her career with 1,605 points -- the third highest total in county history.

In addition, La Conner’s Jason Lindeman earned honorable mention among Class 2B boys.
