Where will you be taking your little monsters this Halloween? And what will they be dressed up as? Do you join in the costume-donning festivities yourself?
Skagit County has a number of safe and fun options for kids each Halloween. I know a lot of parents still take their kids trick-or-treating; I have myself. But I am growing more leery of the annual door-to-door creep out. What if a creep actually jumps out? I digress.
My little one is dressing up as a mummy this year. We are purchasing a set of long underwear, and an old sheet from Goodwill. We plan to rip the sheet into strips, and then I’ll loosely sew it onto the waffle clothes (I want to be able to use them again, after all). We’ll wrap some of the strips around a beenie cap as well.
Grand total: Probably $10.
Bonus: It’ll be warm.
We will likely go to the annual downtown Mount Vernon trick-or-treating event. It is a lot of fun for the kids. It’s safe, and it’s a great place to chat with other members of the community.
