Over the Thanksgiving weekend, I went with several friends to the Triple Door in Seattle to see an acappella group called M-pact. They are always incredible when I see them (this will be concert #4). They consist of 6 guys which is a fairly popular number in contemporary acappella groups. One usually does vocal percussion (as well as sings), one sings bass, another sings baritone/tenor, and the rest sing tenor. What makes M-pact unique is their leader/director/arranger, Britt Quentin. He sings soprano. What's also amazing about him is his stage presence that compliments his voice. Tons of energy, and very comfortable on stage. M-pact also has an alto, Fletcher, in the group who is very well known in Hollywood for his work on movies such as King Kong, Spiderman and the recent film, Beowulf. Among the other 4 guys are a beat-boxer (two, in fact), and two more tenors. The group is based in Seattle, but has recently relocated to Los Angeles. They come back at least twice a year to do shows at The Triple Door so go see them if you can! You can listen to some lengthy sounds clips on their website,
