Oak Harbor baseball coach Jim Waller has announced that this season, his 30th with the program, will be his last. Waller, 55, retired from teaching last year.

In 1990, Waller's Wildcats reached the state championship game, where they lost to Fort Vancouver 1-0 in the title game. His teams have reached the state tournament six times, most recently in 1993.

Waller is the second high-profile coach to resign this season. Football coach Dave Ward stepped down after 17 years and a state championship.
