Wow! The girl can sing, she can act, she has charisma.
After catching a recent showing of the Skagit Valley College Department of Theatre’s production of “Evita,” I couldn’t help but once again notice the star power of 20-year-old SVC graduate Ash Henning, as she flirted, swooned and tangoed her way through the part of the hallowed former First Lady of Argentina, Eva Peron.
Henning is one up-and-coming local actress to watch.

Without telling us, our very own Patrick, the genius behind goskagit.com, at the SVH is having a birthday, but he didn't tell any of us. SO, we decided to tell EVERYONE that he is turning the BIG 40 tomorrow!

So, I just finished watching the much-anticipated animated film “The Bee Movie,” starring an insected-up Jerry Seinfeld, the brunetted-up Renée Zellweger, Matthew Broderick and the ever-exuberant John Goodman.
In short, I thought it was a mildly entertaining film for youngsters, with important lessons about the dangers of messing with nature and how the fates of all living creatures are bound together — for better or worse.

Ahhhh, a breath of fresh air has swept over Skagit County's theater arts landscape, along with fishnets, wild hair and makeup, a campy storyline and a fair share of raunch.

Theater Arts Guild is going out on a limb and veering away from its traditional family fare with its upcoming production of "The Rocky Horror Show." Well, they’re back at it. Reminiscent of congressional committee hearings in 1985 featuring the then-Sen. Al Gore’s wife, Tipper, lawmakers are once again flexing their political muscle and demanding that the music industry stop selling music that contains misogynistic, violent and offensive language.
