April 8

2:11 p.m. Mount Vernon Police officers received a report of a theft at Skagit Valley Hospital. A patient reported that jewelry valued at $5,400 was missing from a coat pocket. Officers are following up on possible witness information.

April 9

9:19 p.m. A suspect was witnessed attempting to steal a New Holland tractor in the 2500 block of Cedardale Road. The suspect was described as a 45- to 50-year-old white male wearing a baseball hat, navy-blue sweatshirt and jeans. He fled the scene in a charcoal and black F-550 truck, with chrome rims and a custom aluminum guard on the back window.

April 10

2:42 p.m. A table and chairs valued at $250 were stolen in the 1300 block of N. LaVenture Road. 

April 11

1:32 p.m. An Xbox was stolen in the 400 block of Stanford Drive. The apartment was entered by removing a window pane and climbing through. A 15-year-old Mount Vernon male was arrested and referred for residential burglary and theft in the third.

3:48 p.m. A caller reported accidentally leaving her credit card in an ATM in the 1600 block of Continental Place. Fraudulent charges of approximately $300 were reported. 

April 12

2:03 a.m. A stereo valued at $100 was stolen from a 1988 Mazda in the 1400 block of E. Kincaid Street. Entry was made through an open window. 

9:45 a.m. A fanny pack was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 1600 block of Douglas Street.   

11:56 a.m. A window was broken out of a vehicle in the 1500 block of N. 26th Street. A stereo was stolen.

4:50 p.m. A 40-year-old transient man was cited for disorderly conduct and urinating in public at the viaduct on S. Second Street.

April 13

9:07 a.m. The windshield was broken on a 2006 Dodge Ram truck in the 1800 block of Sandalwood Court.

April 14

9:19 a.m. A chain-link fence was pried open at a business in the 500 block of Jacks Lane. Tools were stolen. Loss is estimated at $1,200. Possible suspect information was given to officers. 

1:38 p.m. Officers received a report of a burglary in the 2000 block of Old Highway 99 S. Road. The caller reported that several items (including collectibles) valued at $3,000 were taken. Possible suspect information was given to officers.

April 16

9:55 a.m. A 55-year-old transient man was cited for theft in the third for shoplifting hair products valued at $24 at a store in the 800 block of Cleveland Avenue.

11:58 a.m. A 13-year-old student at Mount Baker Middle School reported the theft of an iPod.

April 17

10:44 a.m. A window was broken out of a vehicle at the corner of Myrtle and Main streets.

11:27 a.m. Items were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 100 block of N. 11th Street.

9:54 p.m. A window was broken out of a 1998 Dodge Stratus in the 1100 block of S. Seventh Street. Nothing was taken from the vehicle. 

April 18

2:30 a.m. A GPS unit was stolen from an unlocked 2004 Nissan Sentra in the 100 block of S. Baker Street. Loss is estimated at $600.
