The body of an unidentified male was found near Ross Lake in the North Cascades National Park Complex on Friday.

The man, about 30 years old, had been dead about a month, and authorities suspected he died of exposure, according to a statement from the National Park Service. The death is not considered suspicious.

A trail crew reported finding the body at 1:15 p.m. on East Bank Trail, a half-mile north of May creek Camp. The camp is about 8 miles north of Highway 20 and 25 miles south of the Canadian border.

The body was removed by helicopter and turned over to the Whatcom County Medical Examiner.
