MOUNT VERNON — An employee of a Riverside Drive clothing store reported to the Mount Vernon police that she was robbed at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday by three men, one of whom brandished a handgun.

Apparently, the three men took $20,000 worth of gold jewelry, as well as some clothing from the El Vaquero clothing store, located on the 2000 block of Riverside Drive, according to Jill Boudreau, Mount Vernon police spokeswoman.

The employee said the three men drove away in either a silver-gray or dirty white passenger car.

Police have no suspects.

Manerva, Good Point!
That is really scary!
I just do not feel safe living here anymore.

Our little town has turned into a dirty, voilence filled, high crime city.

Nope, it’s not.

I just spoke to the young gal working when the store was robbed.  She said the guys had been in earlier shopping, but the girl’s mother and other customers were in the shop at that time.  They came back when she was there alone.

They needed a store whose workers spoke Spanish, but it was not gang or drug related.
