Sedro-Woolley Police officers responded to a report of a body on the State Route 20 railroad trestle at 8:46 a.m. today.

Police Chief Doug Wood said a 20-year-old Sedro-Woolley man apparently committed suicide in the early morning hours. A Burlington Northern train went through the area at 2:45 a.m.

"We have no reason to suspect foul play," Wood said.

Railroad officials were cooperating with police and the engineer apparently was not aware of the incident, Wood said.

The man's name will not be released until the Skagit County coroner notifies the next of kin, Wood said.
