Burlington-Edison’s Superintendent Rick Jones has been offered the superintendent position at North Kitsap School District.
North Kitsap’s school board voted Jones as the “superintendent designee” in a Thursday night meeting, said district spokeswoman Chris Case.
Jones will enter contract negotiations next week, and his salary will be determined then.
Jones said his first day at North Kitsap would be July 1. He plans to help Burlington-Edison transition to a new superintendent. Jones has held his current post for nearly 10 years.
The Burlington-Edison School Board will likely discuss Jones’ departure and the search for a new superintendent at the next School Board meeting this Monday, he said.
