State Rep. Dan Kristiansen will remain chairman of the state House Republican caucus, according to a press release today from the State House Republicans.

Kristiansen, of Snohomish, serves the 39th District and was elected to his House leadership position Nov. 16.

State House Republican Leader Richard DeBolt of Chehalis announced the remaining leadership positions. Freshman Republican Elizabeth Scott of Monroe, also serving in the 39th District, was appointed today as one of three assistant whips. An assistant whip helps ensure caucus work is carried out in an orderly fashion and maintains decorum during caucus meetings.

Kristiansen’s main duties include helping set legislative priorities for the caucus, as well as presiding over caucus meetings when bills, amendments, voting and other legislative matters are discussed.

The 39th Legislative District covers rural parts of Whatcom, Skagit and Snohomish counties, as well as the northeastern part of King County.
