The family of an 80-year-old man with Alzheimer’s disease, who has been missing for eight days, is stepping up their search for him.
Ray Jones wandered away from Birchview Memory Care Oct. 1. The family is widening the search in areas familiar to Jones in his past, including in Washington, Idaho and Montana.
The family has fliers and is asking people to post them at truck stops around the state. In addition, they've set up a Facebook page, entitled “Help us find Ray Jones,” to spread information about their search efforts.
“When we hit a low point and were totally exhausted, we got a boost of energy from strangers posting that they would help put up fliers in the new target areas in the Seattle suburbs. Other people are faxing for us,” said Bonnie Jones Graham, Jones’ daughter, in a press release sent by the family. “It’s heart-warming. People want to help us solve this mystery.”
Jones was believed to be wearing a blue plaid shirt and light blue pants, and was likely carrying a black shaving-type bag. He is about 6 feet tall and 225 pounds, with silver hair.
