June 20 was the HTF national tournament. 15 kids from Rhodes Taekwondo in Mt. Vernon attended.
6 1st degree black belts ranging in ages from 8yrs to 16yrs old. out of the black belts who attended two earned national championships, they are Alexis Salazar of Mt. Vernon 11yrs old 1st for sparring, 3rd for forms. Isabelle Deleon of Mt Vernon 11yrs old 1st for board breaking, 2nd for forms and 3rd for sparring. Also competing and placing in the black belt divisions were Alec Scheibe 16 yrs old 3rd place for forms, Marisa Deleon 15 yrs old 2nd for forms, 3rd for sparring and 2nd for board breaking.  Leslie Salazar 8yrs old 2nd for forms, 3rd for sparring.  Grace Boyle 8yrs old 3rd for forms. in the colored belt ranks; Amber Alvis 8yrs old green belt 1st for sparring, 1st for board breaking and 3rd for forms.  Hunter Mott 12 yrs old recommended black belt 2nd for forms and 2nd for sparring.  Cody Mott 10 yrs old blue belt 1st for sparring and 3rd for forms.  Jordyn Mott 10 yrs old low blue belt 3rd for forms and 3rd for sparring.  Indgio Guzman 7yrs old low green belt 3rd for forms and 3rd for sparring.  Marshall Gonzales 9 yrs old high red belt 3rd for forms.  Tiara Harvey 10 yrs old low blue belt 3rd for sparring.  Freddy Lienhard 12 yrs old high blue belt 1st for forms, 1st for board breaking and 2nd for sparring. Zac Alberstadt 19 yrs old 2nd for forms and 2nd for sparring.  Master Rhodes himself recieved his second Instructor of the year award for 2009.  His first was in 2007.  Master Rhodes also has been inducted into the USA martial arts hall of fame this year, and will also be recieving his dorctorate in Martial arts philosphy.  Congrat’s from Master Rhodes to all my studens who attended and competed at this years national tournament.
