LYNDEN — The Burlington-Edison volleyball team did Wednesday what it has done all season.

It won.

The Tigers, the top-ranked Class 2A team in the state, won two matches at the Northwest 2A District Tournament to earn a spot in the district finals and a state tournament berth.

“We’ve been anxious for this part of the season,” said Burlington-Edison coach Tawnya Brewer. “We’ve been looking forward to it for so long. We play better when we get better competition. We get into a rhythm and have fun.”

Burlington-Edison (16-0) will face Anacortes (15-1) for the district title at 2 p.m. Saturday at South Whidbey High School.
