Skagit County Public Health and Community Services hired two employees to address homelessness and affordable housing.
Kayla Schott-Bresler, housing coordinator, is tasked with supporting the development of affordable housing, said Bob Hicks, operations manager for Public Health.
Hicks said this position is a response to continued community interest in addressing homelessness and affordable housing.
Felicia Medlin is the manager of the Home Investment Partnerships Program. She will be work in Skagit, Whatcom and Island counties and be paid through a federal grant.
Her job will be more task-oriented, Hicks said. The program can supply financial aid to those who have trouble paying rent and can provide low and middle income prospective homebuyers with aid, he said.
