Anacortes Police Department Animal Control is a hosting a holiday pet drive this month to help feed hungry dogs, cats, horses and more in Anacortes and throughout Skagit County.

The drive is Dec. 20 to Jan. 3, and food can be dropped in the cardboard donation box in front of the APD.

Monetary donations can be placed in a secure metal drop box in an envelope labeled “Pet Supply Drive.”

Accepted donations include dry and wet cat and dog food; beds, blankets and towels; cat litter; toys for cats, dogs and horses; new or gently used horse tack; cleaning supplies (like paper towels, laundry detergent and dish soap); gift certificates to local feed stores; and monetary donations.

Donations will go to the Anacortes Animal Relief Fund, The Cat’s Meow, Saving Pets One at a Time, Skagit Animals in Need and the Humane Society of the Skagit Valley.

Animal Control Officer Zabrina Nybo will also distribute supplies directly to animals in need.
