As COVID-19 cases continue to surge, Skagit County Public Health is asking schools to limit crowds to help reduce the spread of the virus and to keep people out of hospitals.

The Anacortes School District is answering that request.

As of Jan. 15, the district will not allow spectator attendance at any of its indoor events. That will stay in place through at least Thursday, Jan. 27.

At athletic events, attendance will be limited to student athletes, coaches and other necessary staff. Attendance at performances will be limited to performers and necessary event staff.

Those rules apply to any outside groups using the facility, like youth sports programs.

The district will livestream events when possible. A schedule with links can be found at anacortesseahawks.com.
