Full Obituaries

Full obituaries include text about the deceased either sent in by families or funeral homes. These can vary in length considerably, depending on what is submitted. The cost of a full obituary depends upon its length and whether photos are included.

Photos

The cost is included in the column inch charge for area taken up by the use of 1 or 2 photos (usually about 1.5 inches per photo). Obituary photos are printed in color.

Online listing

All obituaries are uploaded to the The Anacortes American website and to Legacy.com.

Submitting an obituary

To submit an obituary, death notice or celebration of life notice:

Deadline

  • Obituary deadlines are *Monday-Thursday by 2:30 PM to publish the following day.
  • Saturday deadline is Friday by 11:30AM.
  • Sunday deadline is Friday by 1:30 PM.
  • Monday deadline is 2:30PM Friday.
  • Courier Times and Argus obituaries deadline 11:30AM Thursday.

Style

The Anacortes American reserves the right to reject or change copy at the publisher's discretion.
