NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER: The annual Skagit County National Day of Prayer will take place from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, May 3, on the Skagit County Courthouse steps, 205 W. Kincaid St., downtown Mount Vernon.

Local dignitaries and community leaders will pray for their sphere of influence in: government, church, business, education, family, media and military/emergency responders. The Burlington-Edison Junior ROTC Color Guard will present colors and the Mount Vernon Christian School Choir will provide music.

RECONCILING WORSHIP CELEBRATION: Central United Methodist Church, 1013 Polte Road, Sedro-Woolley, will hold a reconciling worship service at 11 a.m. Sunday, May 6, in celebration of the 11th anniversary of being a reconciling and fully inclusive congregation.
