BACKYARD CONSERVATION STEWARDSHIP: The Skagit Conservation District is accepting applications for its Backyard Conservation Stewardship Short Course. The program will feature tips for native plant landscaping, environmentally friendly gardening practices, composting, attracting birds to your backyard, bees as pollinators, landscaping for wildlife, water conservation tips, building healthy soils and more.

The course for ages 17 and up will be held on Wednesdays, March 20 through April 24, at the Padilla Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, 10441 Bay View Edison Road. Free for local residents.
