EDASC hosting annual golf tournament
The Economic Development Alliance of Skagit County will host its annual golf tournament and awards dinner fundraiser from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. July 21 at Avalon Golf Links.
Cost is $500 for a team of four. Cost includes lunch, greens fees, golf cart and dinner. Register at skagit.org.
Kindlund awarded chamber academy scholarship
Mount Vernon Chamber of Commerce Operations Director Jeremy Kindlund was awarded a scholarship to attend the 2017 Western Association of Chamber Executives Academy in Sacramento, California, according to a news release.
He was awarded the scholarship based on accomplishments, responsibilities and community contributions.
This is Kindlund’s second year in the the three-year academy.
Home Trust of Skagit awarded grants
Home Trust of Skagit was awarded $7,250 in grants this month from three regional organizations, according to a news release.
The community land trust organization received $5,000 from Opus Bank, $2,000 from the Archdiocese of Seattle and $250 from Regence Blue Shield.
The money will be used to help those who qualify buy affordable homes by providing the down payment.
Home Trust of Skagit is currently building homes in the Summerlynd neighborhood in Mount Vernon.
WSU Research Center hosting Annual Field Day
The Washington State University Mount Vernon Research Center will hold its Annual Field Day day from 3 to 6 p.m. July 13 at 16650 Highway 536, Mount Vernon.
The free event includes field tours of the nearly 150 acres of research plots and a barbecue.
Sound Benefits Consulting expands services
Sound Benefits Consulting, based in Mount Vernon, is expanding its services by teaming with Royal Fund Management, according to a news release.
Royal Fund Management is an investment advisory firm based in Florida.
The expansion will help Sound Benefits Consulting better serve clients in financial planning, such as retirement planning or wealth management, according to the release.
