MOUNT VERNON — A Mount Vernon suspected of robbing an espresso stand at knifepoint was arrested Friday evening.
Mount Vernon police had been looking for the man since an espresso stand in the 2600 block of Henson Road was robbed about 8 a.m. Friday.
The man, 34-year-old Dennis G. Van Dyken of Mount Vernon, was taken into custody late in the afternoon in Pierce County following a vehicle pursuit by the State Patrol and other law enforcement agencies.
During the robbery, a man displayed a knife to the barista, demanded money, then left in his vehicle.
Using video from security cameras, responding officers identified the vehicle as a white 1998 BMW 740 with Oregon license plate VXV472.
After matching the registered owner information with video from the security cameras and witness descriptions, police obtained an arrest warrant for Van Dyken for first-degree robbery.
