ANACORTES — The Anacortes School District on Tuesday announced its two finalists for its open principal position at Anacortes High School.
Erin Duez and Brian Hanrahan will take part in a public forum at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Brodniak Auditorium on the high school campus, according to a news release from the district.
Each will give a brief presentation, then take part in a Q&A with the audience.
Duez is the principal at Cap Sante High School and assistant principal at Anacortes High School. Hanrahan is the principal at Island View Elementary School in Anacortes.
They are seeking to replace Daniel Williams, who resigned after less than a year in the position amid claims of racial discrimination.
The public forum will be live-streamed at youtube.com/ahslive.
Duez and Hanrahan will also take part in a multipart interview panel at Anacortes High School next week, which will include meeting with students and staff, and a building tour.
“This process has multiple facets to ensure that the successful candidate is able to navigate all aspects of the job,” school district Superintendent Justin Irish said in the release. “We want to see how they engage with students, staff, and families. We also want to understand how they use decision-making processes to design rigorous learning opportunities for students.”
